Since that very moment, a line has unfolded through the works: an awareness that time has always already been memory. Ever, Since captures this trace as an open echo, a flicker that emerges from an indeterminate before and echoes into the present. The exhibition thus becomes a reflection on duration, loss, and the fragility of holding on.
Jonas Brinker (*1989 in Bochum) studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London from 2012 to 2015 and at the Städelschule in Frankfurt from 2015 to 2018 with Douglas Gordon and Willem de Rooij, where he graduated as a Meisterschüler. His time-based works emerge from patient studies of the interwoven life-worlds of human and non-human beings, in which the poetics of observation become visible. Brinker’s films and installations open new perspectives on coexistence and make the subtle relations between people and their environments tangible. Brinker lives and works in Berlin.
