Hee Seo

In her exhibition Unzimmer, Berlin-based artist Hee Seo (born in 1988 in Seoul) traces the marks of sensory perception that emerge from everyday frictions. She examines how the instability inherent in the experience of being a stranger is reflected in an individual’s smallest actions and objects. Through the subtle traces of a ‘nomadic life’ inscribed in everyday existence, the artist disrupts taken-for-granted structures of space and relationships and rearranges them according to an unfamiliar rhythm. Unzimmer thus emerges as a space that is neither a destination nor a home, but remains perpetually in a state of in-betweenness.
Hee Seo is the winner of the NORDWESTKUNST 2025 award.
